Cars in German Town Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police reported they were notified by a individual who found a car in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Roughly fifty cars have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.

Police report they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.

The fluid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Police then located many other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state initial examinations show the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; authorities are not yet informed of any physical harm in connection with the occurrence," they commented.

Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the public for details.

A senior political figure said the attack left him without words and had to be addressed quickly.

"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, referring to the death of nine people by a gunman focusing on people of foreign heritage in 2020.
